Review of NLA Reference Services(Added 30 June 1998)The National Library of Australia is undertaking a review of its reference services and is seeking submissions from interested people and organisations.The NLA "would particularly like to know about developments related to technology, research and learning which could impact on what information is required and how it is obtained and used". The NLA's reference services are broad-ranging, and include assistance to researchers, either in the reading rooms or via telephone or email, as well as the development of guides, directories and databases. Even the delivery of material from the collections to the reading rooms falls under the "reference services" umbrella. A Review Committee has been established to consider submissions. General guidelines for making submissions, as well as background information, is available from the NLA website. Note that submissions must address one or more of the terms of reference, or matters flowing from the terms of reference:
